As a magpie to anything that sparkles, I am like a moth to the flame for a tassel, pom pom or embroidered embellishment.
So it was pretty much love at first sight for this Marks & Spencer sweatshirt, first spied at their press day last year.
I loved the idea of using the sweatshirt as an accessory – tied around the neck of a simple striped tee, grey coat and slouchy trousers. It’s the kind of look that works whatever the weather – perfect during this funny, in-between season. You can chuck on the jumper if the sun suddenly disappears behind a cloud again too.
These mannish trousers are an old buy, but I love this pinstripe pair. Inverse the stripes on your bottom half for a modern look.
And can we please just discuss these trainers? They’re from the Footglove range at M&S – not one I have fully investigated before, I’ll be honest. But the soft grey suede, teamed with an almost raffia, espadrille sole detail had me even before I slipped them on. And hello mama! SO comfy!
Spring who-knows-what’s-happening-with-the-weather wear, sorted. Just don’t forget your umbrella. Or sun lotion.
This post was written in association with Marks & Spencer, but all words, thoughts, styling and photography is my own work.
