Jumpsuit, Zara (old season, similar here and below) | Coat, Jigsaw | Sparkly polo neck, Tu at Sainsburys | Boots, Dune | Bag, Anya Hindmarch at Monnier Freres| Photos: Alex Stedman
When I worked in an office every day, my go-to was a midi dress for ease. Throw it on, add some heels and an earring and yep, you’re pretty much done.
Today, I’d probably choose a jumpsuit – for practicality and running around purposes – because they’re just so bloomin’ comfortable. Plus, similar principle, one piece and you’re good to go.
This kimono-style was a Zara purchase from a couple of years ago that just never gets old or boring – I have worn it to death. Price per wear? Practically negligible.
And thanks to some fairly flattering wrap detail, it’s easy to ring the changes with different tops beneath. I generally go Breton, but because it’s Christmas (almost) I’ve added some festive sparkle with a lurex polo neck from Tu at Sainsburys (£18!) and gold-heeled ankle boots from Dune.
A decent jumpsuit will take you good places – particularly now, during peak party season.
