Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I mean, yes the Summer sunshine is great and everything, but I have a LOT of coats and Autumn means layering, wrapping up and making good use of my collection.
The cape I’m wearing in these images is from La Redoute and I am slightly obsessed by this Iris+Ink textured knit, available on The Outnet. The colour combination of brown and copper couldn’t be more Autumnal. I’ve teamed them with fingerless cashmere mittens I found in TKMaxx years ago, but you can find similar in the link below.
It also brings a change in the world around us. We moved to the Essex/Suffolk borders last Christmas, so are experiencing Autumn leaves in the countryside for the first time. And it’s so beautiful.
Weekend walks in the woods with the kids, followed by a roast in the pub with friends is my favourite way to spend a Sunday. We live a hop, skip and a jump from the woods pictured in this post – and they’re the perfect place to let the children run wild.
There’s also a fire pit, which means we all get to indulge in some camp-fire fun too. And along with marshmallows, the adults need something more along the hot toddy variety. So the new Baileys Pumpkin Spice (available for a limited time in all major supermarkets) adds a seasonal twist to a coffee.
It’s a limited edition version of the classic, with an aromatic mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves mixed with the Original Irish Cream to mark the changing of the seasons. And just like the original, you can enjoy it over ice, infused in a pumpkin spice latte (yum!) or as a part of a dessert.
Autumn loves: crunchy leaves, great knits, lots of coats, family walks, roast dinners and hot toddies.
Now that’s a recipe for a great weekend.
This post was in collaboration with Baileys Pumpkin Spice, but all words, photography and styling is my own work.
