A little bit Gucci AW16, a little bit Shrimps, a little Bowie, a whole lot of LOUD.
This faux fur and metallic jacket, new-in at Zara – sure ain’t for the faint-hearted. But you have to hand it to them, Zara are one high street store who are not afraid of making a statement. I do love the kookiness of it – particularly when you realise it’s reversible (silver metallic on the other side), so effectively two CRAZY jackets in one.
I’ve worn it with the Finery Belshaw skirt I own in two colours (a burgundy colourway which is now out of stock, but this one here is back online and there is also a GORGEOUS bright pink version here).
And I realised that I own a Boden v-neck knit that is exactly the same colour which means there’s a block colour under the jacket, letting that make the statement without competing with lots of other things. (The jumper is last season by the way and they haven’t re-done it this year, but I’ve linked to a gorgeous dusky pink version which would work just as well under the jacket).
I kept the heels the same pinky nude as the faux fur and added a metallic squishy clutch from Jigsaw (old season, but I’ve linked to a similar one above). It just means that even though the whole outfit is quite loud, there are actually only a couple of colours involved.
Now I’ve not fully decided whether I’ll be keeping this – despite me LOVING a statement jacket. But perhaps I’ll try it on another couple of times to make absolutely sure. I quite fancy it the metallic silver way worn with a stripy shirt and denim too.
If we’re getting fully involved in the new season, we may as well REALLY go for it, right?!
