There are a million and five other jobs to do before we get to the bathrooms, but I’m already compiling ideas about the look I want to go for.
We’re lucky to have an en-suite in our bedroom, so the kids get the main family bathroom to themselves and I really want to try and inject a bit of fun into the design scheme.
As with the rest of the house, I am trying to hit a mix between somewhere stylish and inspiring for the children to grow up in. I love the idea of including wording on the floor – something simple like ‘hello’ would be so cute.
I’ll do separate posts later on about each bathroom, but in the meantime my new obsession is hex tiles. Oh, lovely HEX tiles.

I particularly love the fact they’re so versatile. You could choose to have them plain, or go monochrome crazy with wording, large motifs or smaller, intricate designs with more colours added in.

The price per square metre varies depending on where you go, but I’m a big fan of online tile places including Topps and Walls & Floors which I have used previously and always offer a great service.
Topps do a mixed bag of black and white, as well as these lovely circle matt white tiles. While Walls & Floors sell the tiny hex tile here, but also have a sale at the moment with these contour hex tiles which I think are super stylish.
So you know I love a good tile – why not join in with The Edited’s community Design Ideas board on Pinterest? Or tag me on Instagram with great floor ideas.

Funny you should mention this… am just doing both my bathrooms now, one with the floor in black hex tile from Mandarin Stone (http://www.mandarinstone.com/product/_/727/geometric-ebony-matt-hexagon) and accents in the Walls & Floors white gloss mini mosaic.
I’ve had a sample of that contour hexagon they have on offer but didn’t get it, wasn’t quite as nice IRL as I’d hoped. W&F have a really good selection and I agree their service is great. Ob. Sessed. With tiles right now!

Oh that is so good to hear about that contour hexagon as that was on my maybe list – thank you! The problem for me is that there are so many great styles and not enough floors for me to tile! x

Love the ideas here! I’m looking for some inspiration for our ensuite so may have to come back to this!
Be careful when using Walls and Floors for tiles though, we recently had a really bad experience with them. Product was great but they made a massive error with our order that meant that the cost of our bathroom floor ended up at triple what it should have done – and not even an apology from them!

Oh good to know Nicola, thanks so much for telling me – bad customer service is not acceptable! x
