My Style: The work-appropriate blouse that’s a bit rock n’ roll

A confession. I haven’t checked out French mail order site La Redoute for ages, it’s just one of those brands that has passed me by. Then last week I met up for lunch with a lovely (and stylish) friend who had the most gorgeous blush pink coat on and admitted she’d bought it from a brand called Coralie Marabelle for La Redoute.

A word of warning, I find their website extremely difficult to navigate, but it’s worth persevering because there are some little gems buried within. I completely fell in love with the denim pussy bow blouse I’m wearing in the pictures.

It’s completely work appropriate thanks to its formality, but because it’s chambray, it has a bit of a rock and roll vibe. Wear beneath a navy crew neck knit, team with a pair of black leather joggers and trainers for an easy weekend look.

If you follow my Instagram, you will have noticed that I was thrilled to have bagged a pair of brand new (and bargain) Tabitha Simmons flats on eBay this week. They’re an old season, but perfect for heading into party season thank to the silver glitter. ASOS have a pair that does more or less the same job.

And lest we forget, I’m showing my support for The Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal with this beautiful brooch.

I’ve had lots of interesting chats with the children recently about why people wear poppies – they both bought the wristbands from a seller last week – and I personally believe that we should make sure the next generation always remember those we have lost and those who continue to serve.  You can show your support for the Poppy Appeal on social media using the hashtag #MyPoppy.

And with that, I’m off to a secret location because it’s my birthday today! My husband is taking me somewhere and I have no idea where! Thank you to my in-laws for stepping in with the childcare – and have a lovely weekend everyone.
