Last year (and the year before that) I lived and died in my Adidas Stan Smiths. I’ve flirted with other brands in the past, but the retro style of the Stan Smiths just feel like me, not someone I’m trying to be.
The fact that they have simple branding works for me. I’m not an obvious label lover – you’d never, for example, see me toting a bag emblazoned with logos. I just prefer quality things that are a bit more discreet.
Plus I love the fact I can wear them with skirts and dresses as well as more casual trousers. But after relentless daily wear, through the sun and rain, park trips, pavement pounding and general wear and tear, my Stans are looking a little sad.
Completely minimal, these leather lace-ups are devoid of any fuss and any logo. Quite honestly, they’re the holy grail of everyday trainer – comfortable and dare I say, chic.
They also come in navy, which I think is a genius colour for this style of shoe, so much better than black. Worn with a pair of wide leg navy trousers, a stripe tee and leather or denim jacket you’ve got the perfect transitional summer-to-autumn everyday outfit.
Called the ‘Ettie,’ it has the same relaxed feel, is made from the same gorgeously soft organic cotton as the ‘Uma’, but this one comes in a midi length with long sleeves. It’s incredibly comfortable and the cotton makes it so cosy that I know I’ll get loads of wear from it – throwing it on with trainers like these beauts for school drop-off or running around town.
And my rings – which have been worn a lot on Instagram, but I don’t think I have mentioned properly on here before – are by Helen and Annie, a mother and daughter jewellery team known as Renné, who work together up in North Yorkshire. How lovely is that? Working on something creative with your mum!
I haven’t worn silver for YEARS, but these rings have made me fall totally back in love with it. They’re chunky enough, but not overpowering, plus you can stack the ‘Halo’ rings like I have for more of an individual look if you fancy. I went for a larger size with the ‘Polo’ ring so I could wear it on my index finger.
Easy, comfy day wear – sorted.
