Seriously, I don’t know why I’m smiling on this picture. I have been soaked approximately 300 times this week. The kids have been bundled from car to bus to tube to running for shelter under a tree wearing outfits that would be perfect – if they were weather-worn fisherman out at sea in a particularly bad storm.
In fact, these espadrilles are pretty much ruined after one disastrous episode where I miscalculated the depth of a puddle. And the majority of the week has been spent digging out an ancient Next pac-a-mac from the depths of my handbag to throw on at particularly unrepentent episodes, while my hair grew bigger by the second.
Can you look cute while it’s torrential? I’m not sure I can, but there are some pretty stylish alternatives to my pac-a-mac.
And because this is the UK and because we can’t reliably depend upon that season called ‘summer,’ I’ve deliberated, cogitated and digested the best five out there.
Your frizzy hair can thank me later.

Perfect ideas for this weather! I could ring my hair out the other day as I got so wet being out with the children and no spare hands for an umbrella! I voted for you too. Good luck!

Hi Erica, I love your jumpsuit and wanted to get one (I apologise for copying you all the time!). It says on the website that it’s a loose fit. Should I size down??
Erica
It’s so good! You could do, but it’s not super loose, just comfy! I would try your own size – or buy both, try and send the other back? Xx

I ordered the black in a size ,8. I am an 8-10 just now. I wore it last night and felt great in it. Thanks!!!! I had surgery in May and have a huge midline abdominal scar which is still tender at times so this outfit is perfect, thanks you for pointing it out xxx
