I’m sharing my skincare secrets {SPONSORED BY AVEENO}

Skincare secret alert: I’m a moisturising nut. I have serum, day cream, night cream, oil and eye cream all lined up next to my bed so I can layer it all on before I fall asleep.

But wait up – I’ve got an even bigger secret.

As far as skincare is concerned, I always go luxe on lotions for my face while spending less on creams that’ll be slathered on my body.

My logic is that the face is on show all the time, the body rarely. As long as my body feels moisturised rather than dry I am happy to use whichever brand is currently on offer.

For the past couple of weeks though, I’ve been using Aveeno’s Daily Moisturising Lotion, which at less than £8 for 300ml is certainly well within my body lotion budget constraints.aveeno1aveeno4aveeno

I’m no stranger to the wonder of Aveeno as it was recommended to me when the kids had flare ups of very dry, eczema related skin. After soaking them in baths filled with old tights stuffed with porridge oats, a clever friend suggested I try the Aveeno range.

It has a very specific USP: colloidal oatmeal, which is 100% naturally active and really soothing for sensitive skin. It also creates a protective film on the skin which helps to maintain moisture and pH levels.

So as far as my summer dry skin was concerned, I knew it would be a good match. Non-greasy, it went on easily after showering and absorbed really quickly – a must for me, I have NO time to wait around.

I used it religiously every day for three weeks and didn’t scrimp on the amount I used (there’s even a tiny bit left). My skin texture has noticeably changed from desperately seeking moisture to feeling ultra moisturised until the next morning. It even gave a dewy look which I personally love. Aside from the fact it’s clinically proven to improve the condition of your skin, I found it to be a great, budget buy that really works for dry skin.

What’s your skincare secret? I nominate Julia from Stylonylon to tell us hers.

    I’m a massive fan too – I discovered it when I was pregnant – it’s GREAT on itchy dry baby bumps!

    Ok! Not sure if it’s much of a secret – but I’m really into oils. I use an oil between eye cream and face moisturiser, day & night. And a little daily face massage – which is something all the French ladies swear by right? – I think really is the key over the years! xx

    I use aveeno on kids but decleor for myself. Old habits die hard. Exfoliation and high SPF is the answer.
