One Quick Trick: Work your scarf like a bandana

Hi! I had a few days free of blog over Easter while we all went up north to stay with my folks. And very lovely it was too – hope you all had a good one.

I had a lot of blog thoughts while away and have been scribbling things down in one of my many notebooks (true story, my stationery addiction is almost as out of control as my stripy tops / avocado on toast habit).

Anyway, I wanted to start a series of regular posts that was less about spending money on new stuff and more about reworking existing pieces to create a current trend. (Although there will obvs be a shopping section for those who do want to spend money!)

So, I’ve called it One Quick Trick – and the first one is all about this street style must-do: re-working that bandana.

Yes! The cowboy bandana is out of that rodeo (or off that rock god’s head) and back into the wardrobe of the stylish, worn as a neckerchief.

I love the look but wanted to add my own twist, so have been using all those scarves I keep in a box for years on end just in case, rather than buying an actual bandana.

Silk scarves work best – simply fold in half diagonally to create a point, securing at the nape of your neck.

Here’s a few more actual bandanas – and other designs that will give that plain tee a quick and easy update.

  2. H&M Patterned silk scarf
  3. Topshop paisley neckerchief
  4. ASOS Bandana
