Eee it’s right cold. But, surely time to rejoice – as I’ve busted out the coats I’ve been waiting to wear since, well September.
I’ve also realised – now I’m freelance and not based in an office – that I am wearing far less of the lovely skirts that hang in my wardrobe. So this week I set myself a little mission to style them in a more casual way – after all, with school runs and all that entails you don’t want to be overdressed but similarly, I want to look presentable if I have to dash to a quick meeting.
So this is how I’ve dressed down my leather midi, which if you haven’t bought one yet, is a totally brilliant investment. Despite the connotations of the fabric, a midi length means they look sophisticated.
I’ve played with proportions and worn mine with a longer line grey polo neck and camel coat, but dressed it all down with my Stan Smith trainers.
I love these trainers at the moment, I’m wearing them with everything – even with this length skirt. Mine are from Schuh.
You could just as easily wear trainers for the commute and change to courts for work.

Jumper, Zara; leather midi skirt, ASOS last season (but check out below for more); camel coat, last season Marks & Spencer (but similar here)
