Bold lips somehow make you feel totally pulled together, even if you’re just wearing harem pants and a tee shirt. Which is pretty much me at the weekend.

Adding a slick of classic red is the perfect hangover / teething-baby-up-all-night make up trick. But at the moment I’m swapping red for a bold pink. I have just bought Bobbi Brown’s new lip colour in a bold shade called ‘Party Pink.’ It’s really flattering, matte and moisturising enough to wear all day.

These three shades are the ones currently on rotation in my make up bag.

Nars’ ‘Schiap’ is a total classic, but NOT one for the shy and retiring. It is an almost cartoonish shade of semi matte bubblegum that looks amazing with a tan. Wear with just a hint of mascara and let this one do all the talking for you.

And finally Kiko cosmetics, an Italian brand that’s only just come onto my radar but who have some really lovely products. This lipstick pencil is in a darker shade of pink, called ‘Rossetto 06,’ but it’s perfect if you want the colour hit without the reapplication dramas.

Talking of summer looks, I’m getting to that pre-haircut stage where you just have to tie it up because it’s getting RIGHT ON YOUR NERVES. But I’m a bit bored of a bun, so I’ve spotted an Instagram / Tumblr trend that works perfectly – and involves zero hair skill whatsoever.

Similar to the half-up do we all rocked at school, this is the modern way to wear. Plus it keeps your hair out of your face – result. Take the front section of your hair, twist around and scoop into a messy bun. I ‘m wearing Lila’s new neon bobbles in this shot – it’s THAT casual.
