Oh hi. It’s Friday, have you heard? Apparently TODAY it is going to be the hottest day of the year.
So slip into something that’s NOT made of man-made fibre, whack a few more ice cube trays in the fridge and let’s DO this thing.
The weekend is upon us people.
WEARING…

Love khaki trousers. These are by Zara, along with a Primark tee (£3!), River Island sliders (they seem to have sold out 🙁 but try these) and my Accessorize bag (no longer available, but love this).
Also wore the sliders to work this week (well, it was hot) and my lovely colleague Ginny wore these silver Topshop versions.

Talking of khakis (I hate to break it to you, but APPARENTLY the weather’s going to go a bit ‘British Summer’ on us tomorrow so you might have to get out of that cossie), I LOVE the J Crew splattered paint versions.
But I’ve just spotted that the Zara versions (VERY similar) are now in sale. Wear with a boyfriend tee or classic Oxford shirt and plimsolls for a cool weekend look.

TALKING ABOUT…
So back to shoes. I went to a couple of Christmas in July previews this week – events put on by all the retailers which are designed to give members of the press a sneaky peek of the brand’s upcoming Christmas goodies. It makes all those gift guides that much easier to compile (I made my own gin at the Marks & Spencer one last week!).
At Next, they had some great bits and I fell in love with these amazing boots – both for me and for Charlie.

PS Also totally heart this monochrome faux fur jacket. You know how I love a jacket. Marks & Spencer are going to be doing another that’s quite similar, so this is definitely one coat style to earmark for your Autumn wardrobe.

PPS The Sophia Webster sale finishes today, so it’s your last chance to bag some bargains. I am really tempted by these espadrilles.

PLANNING PRE-SCHOOL LEAVING PRESSIES…
Charlie leaves pre-school on Tuesday next week. Where on EARTH has that time gone?
I don’t know about you, but I always find it hard to think of something suitable as a thank you for all the pre-school teachers that doesn’t involve a late-night dash to the supermarket.
So when I saw this lovely idea on my friend Dominique’s Instagram, I was inspired. Gorgeous blooms, bit of ribbon and jam jars – we can all do that, right!?
She’s a florist which is why these are so stunning – but this is a really lovely, simple and not-too-expensive idea that’ll show you put some thought into their gifts. Plus it’s perfect if, like me, you have to do more than one.

TALKING TO…
I went to see the lovely Julia and Eddie from Village England this week for a cuppa (they’re the bags I always seem to be wearing on my Instagram selfies). I also had a little sneaky peek of their SS15 collection, which looks fab. They’ve used a gorgeous bluebell shade in the new bag line, as well as a chic snake print. You will love.

OBSESSING ABOUT…
New kidswear brand Smalls, which has JUST been launched by two New Zealand mums now based in London, who wanted to bring their home country’s favourite merino wool to underwear for kids, not just babies.

Thanks to it’s second-skin response (keeps you warm in the cold weather, cool in the warm), merino wool is fast gaining a cult following, particularly in the UK sports market.
Founder (and mum-of-three) Cat says, “We’re so excited to launch Smalls, stylish enough to wear on their own or to layer up. A Smalls long sleeve under your fave T-shirt or school uniform is the ultimate combo of comfort, warmth and cool. I know that my kids need to be comfy and I want them to be happy underneath it all, in all seasons, no matter what they’re wearing on the outside.”
It’s exciting because the pair have taken a gap in the market – 100% merino wool underwear for kids aged 2-12 – and added a fashion twist with neon stitching.
Look out next season for their 24-hour trouser – which is designed to work as a pj bottom, or super comfy unisex track pant.
The brand has just launched and is going into Selfridges exclusively next month. Adult size next, please.
SORTING OUT…
The kids are going to their grandparents next weekend, so rather than enjoy the time off and maybe go away for a couple of days, I have decided to do…a car boot sale!
This is my ever-growing pile as it currently stands…I haven’t even properly started on my shoes yet.

TRYING NOT TO EAT…

This. Avoid at all costs. It is the devil.
(It is amazing).
Have a lovely weekend all xx
