MMM: Having A Striped Jacket Moment

Last week I was on appointments and popped into River Island.

I’ll be honest, I feel a little bit too old for River most of the time these days (hello day-glo neon), but have found some amazing pieces recently including these sandals and these sunglasses.

And then… across a sea of kimono jackets and aztec dresses I spotted this.

Fitted to the waist, a simple design (no buttons or fastenings) and with really cute floral brooch details (that you can take off if you want). The back has a wrap style that adds a bit more interest. I loved it instantly.

And it goes with EVERYTHING.

There are just so many styling options with a monochrome stripe. And with this jacket you don’t even need additional jewellery.

Pair with a clashing black and white printed trouser like these, a simple white tee and a brilliant flat sandal.

Or mix it up with a mismatched stripe skirt like this one from Reiss, which adds a quirky, could-be-a-suit touch to a work outfit.

It’s not just River Island having a striped moment, I’ve also spotted them at H&M and Zara too.

Buy one, they’ll be the most useful jacket you own.
