I admit, I have never thought to pop into Monsoon Kids just on the off-chance like I do with other stores.
To be honest, I have only – until recently – considered the brand a contender when I’ve had to think about smart Christmas day looks or wedding guest outfits for them both. I guess I just always thought they were a bit too ‘formal,’ when my kids are anything but.
So I was chuffed to be proved otherwise when they approached me to see if I would be up for road-testing their kids collection on Charlie and Lila.

Yes of course, there ARE some fantastic bridesmaid / flower-girl-worthy frocks that some people just can’t get enough of – and there aren’t that many places on the high street that offer suits for little dudes.
But there was something else too that I really hadn’t expected. In amongst the boho vibe Monsoon are famous for, I was impressed to find a collection of sophisticated pieces with a real sense of handwriting.
I LOVED the cotton peasant tops for Lila that could be thrown on over leggings or jeans and the quilted floral jacket was just amazing – want in my size please.
For Charlie there were some brilliant, fun, colourful tees that added a quirky touch to a classic. Loads of stripes, but then I do love a navy stripe.

I’ve washed everything quite a few times now (due mainly to my personal pet-hate – bolognese sauce on stripe tee shirts) – and I have been really impressed with the quality.
Monsoon Kids is NOT overly expensive (I found it comparable to Zara Kids prices) and there are some little gems in there, if you look beyond the wedding outfits.
Here are some other of my favourite picks – plus read on to be in with a chance of WINNING one of FIVE £100 vouchers.

Hello – would love to win a voucher because I have been re-training as a teacher this year and have had no spare £ to spend on clothes for my two children!!! thanks
Alison Perry
Why do I deserve the voucher? I’m not sure I deserve it 🙂 But I’d love to check out Monsoon’s kidswear – like you I’ve never really looked at it, thinking it’s all formal wear but the pieces you’ve picked out looks awesome! My 3yo would have a ball helping me choose some new things to wear for summer!

A voucher would be a amazeballs to spruce up my second hand country bumpkin boys. Loving the looks of these two very cool cats and £100 would be a massive injection to my maternity leave budget. Thanks for the chance and for the very inspiring blog. Love Xx

I love Monsoon kids! I’ve liked on facebook too, thank you x

I deserve to win because I live in a top floor flat and have to carry my yet-to-walk wee girl, Grace, up and down a zillion stairs all day! Great blog. That quilted jacket is just gorgeous. Never seen anything like it.

I’d love to win because we live in a top floor flat and carrying my one-year-old, Grace, up and down a zillion stairs all day deserves a wee treat! Great blog. Love that wee quilted jacket!

We would be so thrilled to win one of the vouchers. Having admired the collection from afar and with a second birthday coming up it would be lovely to have a special treat to give her. I love seeing her face when we occasionally buy her something a bit more special than her usual day to day wear and she shouts ‘oooooh pretty dress’ even though dress covers everything from a jumper, t shirt, dungarees or even sometimes mummy’s old pajamas!

I’d love to win a voucher as I had a big wardrobe sort out yesterday which now means I need some new clothes 🙂

Ooh I would so love to win this, we are off on holiday in a few weeks and I could get myself and the girls a couple of nice bits for our travels. I don’t really deserve a voucher anymore than the next person, but I have been poorly the whole bank holiday weekend so this would definitely cheer me up! X

Hi,
Loving these clothes! I would be honoured to win the voucher as my little boy has turned into a fashionista and insists on choosing his own clothes now – he’s only two-and-a-bit! I’d love to take him to Monsoon Kids and let him go wild in the aisles 🙂
Thanks and fingers crossed!

Because I just love love love that jacket…if only they made it in mummy size too 😉 x

I would love to win the prize because I have bought clothes at Monsoon kids for my daughter since she was born. In fact, as soon as she was out of babygros after the initial weeks of her life, the first proper outfit I dressed her in was Monsoon kids. Now that I have gone back to work part time I can’t splurge in there as much as I used to even though I adore the collections so please pick me!

Ps I’m not on facebook so i can’t like MMM but I do follow you on instagram, pinterest and twitter. Does that earn me extra brownie points?!

Love my kids, love your blog and love to shop. Sadly since buying our house in the big smoke last year, our outrageous mortgage payments mean shopping has had to go out of the window and as I’m due to go on maternity leave soon- I can’t see it anywhere on the horizon! My kids never go without and luckily benefit from lots of hand – me – downs from their cousins but it would be awesome to treat them to something new for the summer. I am loving that quilted jacket- super cool but if I can’t have it maybe my little poppet can!!

I’d like to win because I’d like one of us in this family to dress nicely for a change!

As a new mum to a little boy I’ve been scouring the high st trying to find cool but wearable clothes for my little man. I’m always bamboozled with gorgeous girls’ clothes but when I get to the boys section I find 1 rack of boring blues. The Monsoon range looks fantastic – lots of bright & bold choices whilst also being soft & comfy for my little wriggler. With his 1st tooth just appearing they also look very dribble proof!

Ahhh that quilted jacket is adorable! I’m the same in that I haven’t really thought to check out Monsoon apart from formal wear. Both my little girl and boy would love those outfits. Why do I deserve the voucher? Not sure I do more than anyone else! I especially liked the dress you showed the other day that is a bit like the Frozen dress and my little girl deserves a little special treat since she will be going to nursery for the first time next week and since she’s got a heart problem it will be a big milestone for her even though it is going to tire her out a lot. Thanks for the chance. I follow you on Instagram too!

I would love to win the vouchers so I can spend them on my soon to arrive niece or nephew so they have some clothes of their own rather than hand-me-downs. As a new mum to the first grandchild in our family, it was lovely to receive shiny new clothes for my son from generous relatives and I’d like to return the favour.

Great Post! I don’t pop into Monsoon Kids much either – I also think it’s more for ‘dressy dresses’ – thanks for the heads up. Love the jacket Lila’s is wearing!
Erica
Thanks Bonnie! It’s so cute – I want one! X
Catherine
Would love to win one of these vouchers as I’m on maternity leave at the moment so spending money is limited. Would love to treat my 2 gorgeous boys to some matching jeans with braces…too cute! Thank you for a great blog! Xxx
