We’ve just come back from 5 days away in Istanbul. A big birthday (him), our 5th wedding anniversary and our first child-free mini break since, well, since they were both born. Thanks mum and dad for looking after them!
A gorgeous comfy bed at cool hotel Mama Shelter, haggling in the Grand Bazaar, sight-seeing at Aya Sofia and the Topkapi Palace, really lovely restaurants (especially Topaz and Mikla), near death taxi experiences and multiple lie-ins made for a great few days.
Here’s a snapshot of our child-free week in Turkey.

It looks so fun Erica, did you come across the 360 bar/club ? It’s run by an old school friend of mine :http://www.360istanbul.com
It is on our ‘girls weekend’ wish list, must sort it, thanks for the inspiration xo

Yes we did Sian! It was where I took the shot of the church with the river on either side – amazing views (and Mojitos quite good too!) x

My husband was born in Istanbul and we have only passed through the city once on the way to meet his family. Now I have to visit again, it looks devine! Glad you enjoyed your break without the kiddies.
On another note, I have been stalking the New Look website daily for your jewelled sliders but to no avail…… Did you get yours in store?
Erica
Ha ha! I was lucky enough to be sent mine by their press team, but I think they are out June 15th, I will find out for you!
Alexandra
Have you been to Topkapi?! I went there a couple of years ago and found it amazing! Not far from there there’s a lovely street market where they sell all kinds of oriental things.
Erica
Yes we went there and I think I know where you mean – there are lots of lovely cafes there too! I loved it x
