This Summer I am going to be all over a nandal. For the unacquainted, a nandal is a sandal that’s big on comfort and not dissimilar to something your nan would wear. AKA probably shoes you would have cried over had your mum bought them for you as a teenager.
Not me, oh no. This year I am ALL OVER THEM. The uglier and more comfortable the better. I have friends who are rejoicing in their Birkenstocks at the very thought of being able to walk all day in comfort and be so on-trend it hurts.
They are basically the sandal no man will ever understand or even like, but that’s fine with me. So while I decide between approximately 15 pairs I have seen and *need* – may I introduce you to the embellished nandal, a gorgeous, gem-encrusted beauty that bridges the gap for those of you slightly terrified of this trend between cool and not-in-a-million-years.
These absolute beauties were spotted at the New Look SS14 press preview show and I fell in love with them then. They’re out next month. Marni, anyone?

(PS This pair is Marni and available right now):

But if they’re a little expensive (ahem), here are a few other high street variations.

Credits:
- Office (‘Havana’ sandal out this month, £50)
- Zara
- Schuh (£45, out this month)
- New Look (£34.99, out in May)
- H&M (£34.99, out in May)
- Dune
Get involved, your feet will be so happy…

Nandal – brilliant! I am so glad they are back – such comfort. The embellishment reminds me of shoes in 2003 which brings nostalgia flooding back.
