Not that I get obsessed with interior things and have to find them RIGHT NOW or anything, but I have become *slightly* partial to Jenny Lind beds.
Slight problem? They’re only available in the US at Land of Nod, so of course I have decided that this is the bed I want for Lila’s soon-to-be-big-girl bedroom. (Their site does say it ships internationally, but I dare not ask the cost…)

By the way, who on earth was Jenny Lind? Well, she was a Swedish opera singer who took Europe by storm in the 19th Century, earning the moniker The Swedish Nightingale. When she sailed to New York in 1850, a crowd of over 40,000 admirers greeted her. Bieber, eat your heart out.
Lots of things were named after her because of her popularity, but this cottage-style spindled furniture is called Jenny Lind because she apparently slept in a bed with turned spindle posts. So now you know.
And if Land of Nod decide to set up a UK-based outlet, please let me know.

Yes! I’ve been coveting the Jenny Lind beds since Jordan from ‘oh happy Day’ blog got her boys some a few years ago. And my heart broke when on instagram the other day she was selling them off for next to nothing as they have outgrown them! Argh – if only I lived in San Fran /America. I did consider shipping, but errr…….no.

Oh My God!! Maybe we should all chip in and pay for a ship container!

I am also obsessed with this bed… And wondered if you had been able to find anything similar in the UK.? After hours of Internet searching I can only find land of nod who won’t ship to the UK and Australian based incy interiors who also won’t ship to UK!!! Fear my daughter will be stuck in a cot forever….

Hi Charlotte, I KNOW! The Land of Nod versions are the ones I featured here. I couldn’t find anything like that, but I bought the ‘Oliver’ bed from Feather & Black in warm white and I sprayed it turquoise. F&B also do it in a duck egg blue. I did a post on spraying the bed, if you check through and search for Lila’s bedroom.

Brilliant thank you will definitely have a look .as I wondering how easy it would be to paint one… I can’t believe no one in the UK has decided to make beds in bright colours for kids. There is a missed opportunity out there!
