If you’re anything like me, you’ll be eBaying, charity shop bagging up, having wardrobe detoxes and general cupboard clear outs to make room for all those new, lovely Christmas pressies.
So this week I really wanted to do a couple of posts on new brands that I really love and want to share – in the spirit of the new.
The first – cooper & ella – is definitely a name to bookmark if you’re one of those who don’t differentiate between work, rest and play with your wardrobe as the blouse designs are meant to be worn every day – for everything.

cooper & ella was launched in September 2012 by Kara Mendolsohn (they are the two names of her children), a fashion industry insider who has spent 17 years working for the likes of Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs.
She has found a real gap in the market for blouses and tops that are chic, but wearable and can be worn with everything.

Kara sent me some of her lovely designs to road-test and I have to say I love them, especially the Mary blouse with zipper detail collar – which had a LOT of compliments at work. I wore the navy blue version with a bright pink A-line Topshop skirt.

I also love the studded Estelle top which would look as amazing with cropped black trousers and court shoes as it would layered over a Breton top, with boyfriend jeans and Air Max.
The brand is available online here and has also just arrived at Harvey Nichols across the UK.
