I am officially what can only be described as a saleman’s dream when it comes to beauty products. Give me a department store or airport packed with new, beautifully packaged make up and skincare products and I’m in heaven.
But over the years I have – as I am sure many of us do – got stuck in a rut and bought the same things over and over again.
It’s fair to say my beauty regime has changed somewhat since having the kids, so now speed, practicality and functionality are much more important than how something looks on the bathroom shelves.
My day job now involves looking after beauty, as well as fashion pages, so I get to see – and try – all those new products myself.
So I thought I would share the love and pass on some of my new must-haves:
Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditioner: Gone are the days I can spend half an hour moisturising after a shower. These days hair washing, leg shaving etc has to be done within a 5-minute shower period, before the kids wake up. This new product means you can moisturise while you’re actually in the shower, rub it in, rinse it off – job done.
Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Turbo Boost Hydra-gel: A miracle product designed for tired, puffy eyes which helps moisturise and lessen any dark circles. Use it morning and night. Plus it feels really soothing when you put it on.
Bobbi Brown Sheer Colour Cheek Tint in Nude Beach: A holiday glow in a tube. I use this on my eyes as well as on the apples of my cheeks to give a healthy, sun-kissed look even on the greyest of mornings and after a few hours sleep. It seems to be out of stock in most department stores at the moment (sorry), but I highly recommend putting your name down on a list somewhere!
Nars lipstick in Funny Face: The perfect bright pink which will give colour to your face, make you look radiant even when you feel far from and it’s a wearable nod to the season’s neon shades. Love.
