So who else is obsessed with the Inside Claridge’s programme, about to air the final part tonight (Monday) on BBC2?
If you love General Manager Thomas Kochs, but can’t afford the price tag to stay there – don’t worry, because now you can get its general whiff for a fraction of their room price.
Why? Because posh London florist McQueen’s have just launched their new Claridge’s candle in Gardenia, £38 for 55-hours burn time.

While a pack of six from Sainsburys might not cut the mustard in the great gift department, luxe candles are a brilliant Christmas present idea.
Fashion designer Bella Freud has just teamed up with Space NK to produce her own candles, emblazoned with the iconic phrases usually found on her cashmere knits.
Love these.

Fornasetti‘s ceramic encased designer candle is for those who really do have everything. Lovely, but at £99 a pop this is one for those with money to burn.
Jo Malone – with its perfect packaging – is always a winning gift. Their English Pear and Freesia will make your house smell like Spring.
Diptyque have a Christmas collection of mini candles, perfect for a gift – or as a treat for yourself. I love their Freesia, too.
And try British-based candle company Melt, who do lovely mood candles as well as scented glass versions.
They also have a Noel scent – perfect for the festive season.
Bargain-hunter top tip: TK Maxx are brilliant for scented candles. I spotted loads of lovely boxed designs on my visit last week for around £7.99 each.
