Perhaps this post would read better as ‘should you wear tartan?’
Checks and plaid have long been my least favourite pattern.
But Gwen Stefani (aged 43, people! A mother of two! Did you SEE her abs?) rocked the X Factor stage last weekend looking every inch the Highland’s perfect rocker with her edgy mix of bleached hair, red lip, leather and tartan.

Hated the song, but thought she looked amazing.
So this post is more a test to myself. Could I take three key checked items from the high street and find a wearable way to work them?
