In its eighth year, Artists’ Open Houses is a chance for locals to meet as well as buy the crafts and artwork of more than 200 artists across Dulwich, SE London.
Photographers, print makers, painters, jewellers, ceramicists and furniture upcyclers all open their homes and studios across two weekends in May, one of which is this weekend.
On Thursday I went to the private view of SODA, a beautifully curated edit of stylish interiors furniture, lighting, upholstery and accessories, set up by former Elle Decoration and Inside Out interiors picture editor Vanessa Leigh and her husband, interiors photographer Ben Anders.
The furniture is all vintage pieces they’ve sourced and customised with the SODA colour palette of bright neon pink, canary yellow and zingy blue.
I absolutely loved the Parker Knoll wingback chairs updated in grey flannel and neon pink back buttons, while vintage standard lamps have been given a modern twist by being sprayed in the SODA shades.
The couple’s stunning home in East Dulwich is also showing Ben’s original photography and along with other artists participating in the festival, they will be open all weekend.
