I used to be that person who scoffed at the assistants in Russell & Bromley trying to sell you the bag to match the over-priced shoes you were considering. No WAY would anyone with an ounce of style go match-matchy, natch.
Oh how times change.
Now – with two kids and no time to blow-dry my hair in the morning – a matchy-matchy uniform would be heaven. Or at least, something that I could grab and not even have to think about.
Now fashion has answered that problem, by coming up with pieces that – well, match.
Think bold print on bold print. And some even come in this season’s must-have trouser shape, the pyjama pant. For those who wish they COULD stay in their jim jams all day – or, like me, asleep in bed ALL DAY – this is something worth rejoicing.
A warning: some of them are a bit OUT-THERE. But for the less time-constrained amongst you, the bold could be tempered with plainer pieces. Wear the print trousers with a fitted button-up blouse for work, or with flats and a scoop-neck tee for day-wear.
But for those like me who need help to distract away from the dark circles around the eyes, bring ON the bright printed two-pieces.
