MMM: Statement pencil skirts

One thing is for sure this Spring – pencil skirts are everywhere. Which is just as well considering Mad Men was back on TV this week (whoop!).

Don’t be afraid of them if you have a booty. Look at Christina Hendricks, who plays Mad Men’s sexiest of secretaries, Joan. She has curves to kill for and rocks the pencil skirt no problem.

Whether you are heading back to work or just fancy a good night out, these statement skirts need little in the way of accessorising. Keep it simple with a plain vest or loose fitting tee-shirt tucked in.

Dotty Tweed skirt, £95 Whistles. Amazing colour, plus the black detailing makes this ultra flattering for girls with hourglass curves.
Silver leather cut out skirt, £149 Marks and Spencer. OK, so quite similar to the Giles version, but what a skirt. Perfect if you fancy making a real style statement this Spring.
'Koscian' skirt £69, Monsoon. Clashing paisley prints makes this the perfect skirt for those wanting to work the pattern trend.
Cherish fitted pencil skirt, £95 Reiss. Forget everything you ever heard about horizontal stripes. With its high waist, this skirt is ultra flattering on curvier hips.
