I have been meaning to post the before and after shots of the kitchen renovation for ages.
So here they are – along with all the details of where I got everything.
It took a long time to plan and save for this space. We knocked two rooms through to create it and had to do it in three stages in order to manage the finances.
But it is now finished – and I hope it’s easy to see just what a difference it has made.
It has gone from being a fairly gloomy space that made me want to get in and out as soon as possible, to one I now want to be in all the time!
I’ve already done one post on how we started the kitchen project, but this is more a ‘where we got it’ post.
If you have any other questions about anything I haven’t mentioned, please just ask.
I hope you enjoy the before and after shots!

Where is your fridge? 🙂 Is it hiding somewhere sneaky?
Erica
Yes! Next to the larder cupboard! x

ah-HA ! Really do lovet his. One of the bits that amazes me most – somehow your kitchen is brighter – even though your cabinets are MUCH darker… The dark counter tops, backsplash and floor really darkened the room. I really adore that space, ticks ALL my boxes. Congratulations !
Erica
Thank you so much! It feels SO much lighter and brighter. I think it’s the worktop, but also the fact we took down the central wall cupboard which has opened up the window area. THANK YOU! X
Caroline
The light is amazing! A beautiful kitchen. May I ask the size of your island?
Erica
Thank you! It’s approx 1.8m x 1.2 m x

You’re such an inspiration!! I have my decorators here at the moment nagging me for a colour to pain my island unit. Is the Mylands colour very very dark? We have a black marble worktop so want a bit of a contrast but there are too many colours to choose from!! What do you suggest?
Erica
Aaah thanks Jo! The Mylands colour is dark and it may be too dark if you already have a black worktop. Unless you just went for it, and chose F&B Railings or something similar making a feature of the darkness? Otherwise my island unit is painted in Blackened by F&B, which is a gorgeous pale grey. What colour are your walls and what colour will your wall units be? xx

Hi Erica. Congratulations on your beautiful home renovation! Sorry for the boring question, but please could you tell me how long your dining room table is? Thank you!
Erica
Thanks Kate! We got the largest they could make, so I think it’s 10ft! xx

Hi Erica,
Wow what a transformation! I love the pink tiles and how well you have tied them in with the island and the interior of the glazed cabinet, it all looks amazing!
Also the rugs you have chosen are fab! Thank you for posting, serious design inspo here.
