Ellen DeGeneres, one of the US’s most successful talk-show hosts, has teamed up with iconic British ceramics brand Royal Doulton to produce a gorgeous tableware collection.
It’s in line with her ED by Ellen American lifestyle brand, inspired by her passion for interior design, architecture and fashion. Because if you thought she was just a very funny lady, you would be wrong. She’s a serial property renovator – having even appeared in much-respected interiors magazine Architectural Digest.
She also has GREAT initials, ED.
Ellen’s inspiration for the dinner service and mug collections comes from her love of mid-century and artisanal design – featuring four tonal colour combinations of dark blue, light blue, taupe and grey in eight simple, chic patterns.
And getting fully involved, I hosted my own brunch using a mix of the cobalt blue chevron, the blue love plates and simple ceramic serving platters. I’m a big fan of mixing up china in the same way as I clash pattern with my clothes – stick to the same colours, but contrast the prints. These pieces allow you to do just that.
You can create your own bespoke collection, by buying entire sets or picking bits and designing your own. I love these chevron printed plates that will look fresh teamed with white or other blue pieces.
The ED Crafted by Royal Doulton collection is priced from £8 and is available at Royal Doulton.
This post was written in collaboration with Royal Doulton, but all words, styling and thoughts are my own.
