Who knew sourdough crumpets were the PERFECT accompaniment to judging the Etsy Design Awards?

It only took me and my fellow judges this hearty breakfast, quite a few pots of tea (in cute, mismatched Etsy-purchased china, obvs), a LOT of discussion and only a few minor disagreements to decide on the winners.

But now I am delighted to announce the crafters, makers and creators who will take home the prizes.

HOME & LIVING: ESTAMPE & Co

We loved: Genius or what? If you’re in rented accomodation, rubbish at DIY or just want to reinvent the inside of a cupboard, this peel & stick wallpaper just changed the game.

FASHION & ACCESSORIES: Pluck’d Designs

We loved:
Raver, safety conscious mum, cyclist – the audience for these pieces made from light-reflecting yarn is huge. We couldn’t decide whether we loved the hats or kids mittens the most.

KIDS & BABY: Button And Blue

We loved: Owner and designer Alexandra is 19 years old. This young entrepreneur gathers her own resources in rural Northumbria where she lives. One to watch.

We loved: As soon as these plates go into sets of 6 or 8, I’m all over them! We all loved the black and white detail as well as the quirky animal designs.

And the winner of the People’s Choice award – who takes home a whopping £10,000 prize – was Sincerely Louise. Her faux taxidermy knitting kits are a huge hit and proved super popular with voters.

Thank you so much to Etsy for asking me to be part of this amazingly creative awards ceremony – I loved every second.

Plus I discovered lots of amazing talent in the process – I’ll definitely be introducing you to lots of them on here in the future.
