BRUSHING: My hair is thick. Thick and curly. This means going through twice as much conditioner as the average head, still not finding any that leave it easy to brush after washing and inwardly whimpering when it comes to de-tangling. That was, until I discovered The Wet Brush. And OH MY WORD. It’s got ACTUAL science behind it (Intelliflex bristles that bend around and over knots, working them out without breaking hair), gets through my gigantic barnet in seconds and leaves the scalp feeling soothed. I own this safari version (obviously). Perfect on kids hair too. Honestly, game changer. Available at Look Fantastic, Cult Beauty and Boots. Buy here.
STRIPING: Not sure what I love most about this BARGAIN tee from New Look (which I confess, I rarely look in these days because I feel too old for it). But this. Could it be the stripes? The colour? Or perhaps it’s that super cool tattoo style ‘Love’ motif. Wear with denim or a high waisted midi skirt and flats for a simple day look. Buy here.
FIDDLING: I’m sure by now you’ve met Frank over on my Instagram. Frank is the Fiddle Fig Leaf plant that I searched for months to find (see my house plants post here) – and finally found one over at Conservatory Archives. Now I am praying that I won’t kill him (so far, so good – he’s next to an east facing window so lots of sunlight but not directly, watering at the exact same time each week #highmaintenance #phew). Anyway, in the US you can pick up a Fiddle Fig at IKEA, but here it’s more difficult to track them down. But I’ve just spotted that London-based plant gurus Geo Fleur are now stocking 70-80cm single stem plants – which will obviously grow into the beautiful specimens seen all over Pinterest if you find the right spot in your home. Buy them here.
POTTING: Seriously, La Redoute has got some brilliant things. I love these pots (which could cost a fortune from a Scandi design brand) – the colours are so appealing (kitchen, bedroom or bathroom?) and they’re a great price. Buy them here.
WEDGING: I think my default summer sandal will always be of the nude variety. Last year I wore a flat sand lace up sandal LITERALLY every day. The thing with nude is it always looks great with tanned toes, plus you can mix with any number of wardrobe options. So basically they’re a great buy. This pair is a lovely quality leather and I love the Summer 2016 wedge espadrille sole update, which makes them feel totally on-trend. You will live in them. Buy them here.
