As much as I love winter clothes – knits, boots and cashmere socks – there is NOTHING that puts a bigger smile on my face than a fresh, summer-ready pedi, new sandals and getting the toes out.
I’m definitely guilty of being WAY too keen where sandals are concerned, only to get home and get the socks straight back on.
But that’s the beauty of living in the UK, surely – gorgeous one minute, freezing the next.
Perhaps we need to pick a date – like the kids wearing their summer uniform straight after the Easter holidays – where sandal-wearing becomes compulsory. I’d definitely be up for that.
Lila and I decided to brave it on a daisy-chain expedition last week, both choosing these styles from Hush Puppies.
I love the colour combination of my simple leather style – which will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. They’re also exactly the kind of simple design I buy over and over. I bought a pair a couple of years ago which were practically identical and wore them until they fell apart, so replaced them with the exact same style.
These are cushioned, so you don’t get that burning sensation on the base of your feet while walking for miles (picking daisies!)
Lila’s pink floral style are totally practical – with a cushioned sole which has grips, as well as velcro straps so she can be a big girl and fasten them herself. But those flowers made this style-diva-in-the-making VERY happy.
And we could get on with the important job of warming our winter-worn toes in that lovely spring sunshine.
This post was a collaboration between The Edited and Hush Puppies. But all styling, words and thoughts are my own work.
