The weather’s confusing my brain and my wardrobe. One minute I’m layered up for Winter to protect against the wind, the next I’m stripping them off because the sun’s out.

Yesterday I had a day of meetings, but the weather was gorgeous when I left the house.

So what to wear? The answer is this season’s duster coat – of which there are many available right now on the high street.

Duster coats are specifically warmer weather coats usually without buttons,  although many now do. But they have a straight shape that makes them easy to throw them on over an outfit.

Mine is a pale grey and pink grid check from ASOS, which I will definitely be wearing through until Summer. It’s not too thick, so easy to throw on over everything from bulky knits – like I’ve done here – through to button-up shirts and midi skirts. It’s a great statement piece, but the colours make it easy to mix with other prints and patterns.

Plus, it’s a midi length so it will work in Spring with my favourite skirt length and culottes too.
