MMM: A Little Splash Of Lilac

We all know pastels are having a moment. But there is one sugary shade that is currently a little more fashion than the rest – and that’s lilac. So if you’re not having any of it when it comes to pale, girly colours – perhaps this is the one to tempt you into a slightly more sophisticated way of working the trend.

Make like these stylish fashionistas and mix with contrasting colours, rather than head to toe lavender.

Teaming with navy blue will look ultra chic, while mustard (like Giovanna Battaglia, above) is unexpected, but works beautifully.

I love the idea of mixing tones of dusty pink, grey and lilac together like Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl blog (top image) – lilac and grey will look stunning as they are both similarly cool shades.

Here’s where to find lilac right now (or you could pull a Kelly Osbourne and dye your hair….no?):

Slowly warming to the lilac ( I like to take my time to fall in love with trends!) but I’m really starting to feel it. It’s almost that cross from Winter to Spring but not yet Summer colour if that makes any sense! I love it with the navy the most, gorgeous. I’m going to have to introduce it to my wardrobe me thinks x
