I admit when I started decorating Lila’s bedroom just before she was born, the plan was to stick to a sophisticated palette so the room would grow with her.
I’m obsessed with making boards on Pinterest (in fact, you can check out mine here) and it’s a great way of planning out your space. I tend to subconsciously pin very similar things so it becomes quite obvious as to the direction I’m going in.
But when we found out she was a girl, I seemed to go a bit fuschia pink mad. It’s not a bad thing – I genuinely love the shade, but it has made her bedroom about as girly as it could be.
I’m a big fan of clashing up prints and patterns in a fashion AND interiors way and for Lila’s room I have stuck to a colour palette of grey, white and pink, with some turquoise. I think if you keep the tones and colours similar, you can go mad with the prints. Polka dots, stripes, stars and leopard print – bring it on!
Now I’m planning on shifting the kids rooms around, I thought I would do a post showing off Lila’s space.
It might be way more pink than I first imagined, but I do love it. Hope you like it too.
