MMM: Céline vs Zara

Which designer, high-end atelier do you think these lookbook images are from?

While they may look like the simple, minimal chic of Céline, they’re actually the latest images produced by Spanish chain Zara – currently top of my working wardrobe lust-list.

I’m sure it’s not coincidental. Zara are absolute geniuses at ‘recreating’ the luxe looks of more expensive designers.

In fact, Céline didn’t reveal any images of their Resort 2014 collection (the range that comes out between Autumn and Spring) for exactly this reason. Usually Zara – and other high street retailers – can turn around their versions before the designer originals even make it in to store.

I will never be able to afford the real deal, but I can find similar pieces easily from the high street.

Apologies to Phoebe Philo – but then again, she has created the look of the season – and we ALL want to wear it (especially those Zara boots).
