My little one sleeps in the attic. Not in a dramatic Virginia Andrews way (obviously), but in a small, cute room at the top of the house way.
I promise to post some proper pics of it soon – the iPhone isn’t really working for flattering lighting. In meantime, here is a sneak peek:
Anyway, the problem with being at the top of the house is that it’s absolutely roasting in the Summer and gets particularly cold in the Winter. Last year I had a little electric heater that I kept on throughout the night.
This cold issue has made me start questioning whether now is the time to start rejiggling the bedrooms around, so potentially Lila goes into Charlie’s room, Charlie gets the bigger spare bedroom and the attic room becomes the spare room / office.
I’m not sure I really want to as I love their rooms, but it does make sense. Plus, Charlie’s could double up as a playroom.
We would also need to reconfigure the furniture, which excites me as it means redecorating. YES!
Currently in the spare room we have this lovely wardrobe (for my coats!):
If this room becomes Charlie’s room then I am really tempted to give it a bit of a 60-minute makeover.
Coloured wardrobes like these in gorgeous, glossy brights really appeal to me and it would be a cheap way to update a useful piece of furniture.
I already posted about what kind of bed I’d like to get for Charlie here.
And then we have decisions about walls, flooring….
Hmmm, this could be more expensive than I thought!
